Diosti
This last spring, our whole staff was blessed to attend a John Piper conference here in Bucharest! It was awesome and the times when John Piper spoke were packed full of wisdom, knowledge and great teaching! I really enjoyed it!
On the last day of the conference, I was walking through the hall and out of the corner of my eye, I saw this guy that looked familiar to me and he was looking at me like I looked familiar. I turned to him and we both said, "I think I know you!" Well, this guy, his name is Ovidiu, he used to live in Diosti, which is where I spent my first three summers here in Romania. He now lives in Craiova which is about 40 minutes from Diosti and a much larger city. He's married, has been baptized and attends church regularly. He was so thankful to us and to H2H for the years that we came to spend with the kids in Diosti. He said that had we not been there he would not have come to know Christ! Wow! What a testimony to our GREAT God and to H2H! We just never know the impact that we have on these kids but what a blessing when we hear things like this! My prayer for Ovidiu is that he would stay strong in the Lord and that he and his young family would be blessed!

Scottish Dinner and Staff Training
Each month during this last school year, our staff would get together and do something fun. The staff was broken into groups and it was their responsibility to plan the activities for their specific month. Well, since we have Kirsteen the Scottish Lassie on our staff, she helped her team plan their event complete with Haggis, an Ode to Robert Burns, and some Scottish dances.
At the end of February, our whole staff came together for a week of staff retreat. We held it at Pipera. I helped plan and cook the meals. Jim and Roe Dodgen came from the states and held sessions with us about Strength Finders. It was a nice to take a break from the everyday and slow down and learn from each other and study God's word together. I especially enjoyed the last day when we had a 2 hour quiet time block. It is always amazing what God reveals to us when we are quiet and listen.
We all got matching t-shirts and buffs!!

Snow, Snow and MORE Snow!!
This winter we had an incredible amount of snow in a very short period of time! I'm glad we have moved on to Spring!!
I started this blog sometime this spring. Now it is summer and boy is it hot. Maybe some of that snow would be nice right about now.....
This is what our front yard looked like 6 months ago!!

Birthday Time!
Where do I start? I haven't blogged since January. Hmmmm..... I guess I'll start with what happened in February and work my way through the months playing catch up.
February is my birthday month so I planned a little party party. The morning of my birthday, I was awakened by Mirela at 12 AM. She wanted to be first to tell my "Happy Birthday" and give me my present. My birthday happened to fall on Super Bowl Sunday, so we had a Super Bowl party, however we didn't watch the Super Bowl because it was coming on at like 3 AM here in Romania. However, we had great Super Bowl appetizers for the food complete with a pink layered cake made by Talitha and Haley! It was gorgeous girls!!! I got some really nice gifts and had fun hanging out with the staff and some of the transition girl graduates.
We didn't manage to make it to church that day because of all the snow and all the snow melting into our sun room from its roof and drips down walls into the house.
Here are some pictures from the fun afternoon!

Unloading the Container
Our container that we were expecting before Christmas finally came on January 12th! We had a small team here that helped us unload plus all of the Bucharest/Snagov/Ghermanesti staff! We had it all out of the truck and in the garage in a half an hour! Praise God for such great supporters that send us these things for our ministry!
Youth Group Party
We have three youth groups: Peris, Voluntari, and Rosiori. The kids got to come to Pipera for the winter youth group party based on their attendance at youth group. Basically, if they are a regular attender, they get to come. We had 50 kids on the list to come, but only about 45 were able to come. This year we had games, good food, awesome worship, a discussion about goals and dreams, and a little bit of time to hang out at the very end. The kids were excited to hang out together and to come together as one big group.
